THE BEST SOURCES OF ANTIOXIDANT

All fruits and vegetables are great sources 01 antioxidant compounds. But which are the best? Researchers at Tufts University in Boston have compiled a list of foods that are extremely high in vitamin C and beta -carotene (it's difficult to get enough vitamin E in foods alone, although cooking oils, nuts, seeds, and wheat germ all are good sources) Here are some of their favorites.

Watermelon, cubed – 1/2 cup – 8 – 0.2

FRUITFULL PROTECTION

The next time your spouse gives you the evil eye of stealing away with a piece of strawberry shortcake, just that you need it for you fight against free radicals.  You may get a skeptical stare, but at least you'll  be  telling  the truth.
searchers from Tufts University is Boston and other university evaluated 12 commonly eaten fruits and five fruit juices to determined which had the most free radical-fighting punch. Strawberries won hands down.

or starters,  strawberries  are a powerhouse of vitamin C, packing more  than 70 percent of the Daily Value in a  half - cup. They also contain a variety of other antioxidant compounds, such as  ellagic acid.
Other  fruits that scored  particularly high  were plums, oranges,  red  grapes, and  kiwifruit.
